Description

These are marine fishes that live at depths up 700 m usually in deep-water. It can grows up to a maximum length of 60 cm. This is a bathydemersal species, found on sand and mud substrata. In the Ligurian Sea this species was recorded in depth ranging from 30-350 m elsewhere it has been recorded to 700 m. It feeds on shrimps and crabs. This fish live up to 7 years. It Inhibits places of Eastern Atlantic: north of British Isles and North Sea to Walvis Bay, Namibia, including Madeira and the Mediterranean (excluding the Black Sea).
