Specimen Description

Salamanders has a relatively flat and curved skull, when it compares with the size of the body it is bigger. bony sockets in the skull hold small, bead like eyes. a typical salamander skull has different cranial plates. On the dorsal side Premaxilla, Frontal plate, Parietal plate, Ptergoid   , The jaws are connected with the skull. the lower jaw is movable slightly wider than that of the that of the upper jaw, which is mound in the skull. The jaws are equipped with small and sharp teeth. The hyoid apparatus is present at the ventral side of the skull.
